Email Subjects
Email Subjects (subject lines) are saved on Email Message records, and may be entered/edited there during message creation or during setup of a Mass Email.
Eye-catching Subject Lines
There are two options for enhancing Subjects in DonorPoint-generated emails:
- Merge tags, to address supporters by name in solicitations and receipts.
- Emojis, to add some visual sparkle + fun.
In the example below, the Subject line uses both options to remind Emerging Leaders that they still have time to sign up for a networking event at the local TopGolf driving range+pub:
There’s a list of Merge Tags in Online Documentation: https://docs.donorpoint.com/content/08email/mergetags.html
- Note that some are appropriate for use with Contact-list-based Mass Email Lists (i.e., they have additional details about a constituent, not just an emails address), while some are more appropriate for receipts (i.e., they have transaction information, like amount and item name).
- Always test before you send!
And here’s how to insert standard emojis from your desktop or laptop:

This is what the Subject line for the example looks like in Microsoft Outlook, in the preview and reading panes:
