Workplace Campaign Community Fundraisers

Because Workplace Campaigns are generally managed by external constituents, they are part of DonorPoint’s Community Fundraiser module. That gives them the following features:

  • Restricted dates - start and end dates to control when the form can accept pledges and donations
  • Page Template - customizable wrapper around the form
  • Optional Login Page - if the form’s status is ‘Internal’
  • Optional Splash page - with progress and goal amounts
  • Autoresponders - additional email templates for invitations and reminders
  • Constituent Dashboard - Workplace Manager access to transactions and reports

Like Single Page forms and Catalogs, they have the following features:

  • Published and Archived Status
  • Contact Fields
  • Items
  • Payment Methods
  • Custom Properties
  • Integration Codes
  • Pre and post-process scripting
  • Confirmation Page
  • Confirmation Email

Workplace Campaigns code transactions to a specific organization in addition to a contact. Three types of Workplace Campaigns are distinguished by how the relationship to an organization is defined:

Private Workplace Campaigns

Private Workplace Campaigns are tied to a specific organization. Only employees of the organization have access to the campaign form. Employees are created as User Accounts manually or via an employee import file, and employees login via a DonorPoint username and password, or via Single Sign-On (SSO) provided by their organization’s security software to allow access to the form. Employee records can have specific custom fields for the organization to be used in customization and reporting. Any transactions are automatically linked to the organization and employee, and the content of the form can be customized to the organization and the employee. Private campaigns support rollover pledges, editing transactions, and displaying data from an employee’s history. Specific organization employees can be granted permission to access their workplace’s campaign dashboard, which provides access to individual records and reports.

Private Workplace Campaigns have the following property settings:

  • status - set to Internal-Only to require a login to access the form
  • organization - on the Engagement tab, a relationship to a single organization.
  • invitation list - automatically set to the employee list of the organization

Open Workplace Campaigns

Open Workplace Campaigns are created via a Redirect URL that specifies the organization in the query to the browser. Employees are provided the URL, which automatically codes their transactions to the organization. However a new contact record is created for each transaction – multiple transactions are not linked to a single contact record in DonorPoint. See Reconciling Donor records(add link here) for information about how DonorPoint automates reconciling duplicate contact records. You can create many Redirect URLs tied to the same Workplace Campaign to be used by multiple organizations. The content of the open workplace campaign form can be customized to the organization, but not to the contact.

Open Workplace Campaigns have the following property settings:

  • status - set to Public to allow anyone to access the form
  • Redirect URL - created from the organization’s record, this associates the organization with a specific URL that employes use. This URL contains a relationship to the organization, which enables customization of the form and automatically assigns transactions to the organization.

Public Workplace Campaigns

Public Workplace Campaigns are similar to Donate Now forms, where the organization is input with the donor’s contact information. You manually link transactions to the organization based on the employee’s input data. The content of the form cannot be customized to the organization or the employee.

Campaign and Workplace Managers

When describing Workplace Campaigns, we will refer to two roles:

  • Campaign Manager - your staff member who has access to DonorPoint and manages campaign data. They may or may not be the person setting up the DonorPoint Community campaign.
  • Workplace Manager - an employee of your workplace partner in an Exclusive workplace campaign. They will have access to functionality in the workplace campaign dashboard.
