Sharing

Providing a quick way for supporters to access to the appropriate community campaign, form, catalog, or item is easy. Your options include:

  1. a custom Link, aka Redirect URL (print or social share);
  2. a call to action button or hyperlink in an email, that you back with a DonorPoint merge code that inserts the needed URL (email);
  3. a QR code (print, social share, or email).

Setting up to Share

The layout of the Sharing tabs in Catalogs, Categories, and Items; Community fundraisers; and single-page Forms are standardized.

Editing a system-generated default URL is simple:

QR Codes for Redirect URLs

It’s easy to get a QR code to promote your campaigns and events right from DonorPoint, after you’ve created custom Redirect URLs and saved them!

  1. Go to the Sharing tab on any catalog, category page, collection page, form, or specific item. (Our example below shows an Event Package item.)
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the Sharing tab to find three sizes of QR codes, then right-click to save the one you need as a PNG file.

TIP: Save the PNG file with a standard name that includes the Redirect URL itself, e.g., QR_code_RoadmapReview2023Q2.png

  1. Always test your QR code by scanning it with your phone… make sure it takes you to the correct page.

On a Community Campaign’s Sharing tab, you may see a whole list of Redirect URLs for fundraisers that are hosted within the same the site. In that case,

  1. Edit the specific URL entry using the pencil icon (e.g., CLA), and scroll to the bottom of the popup for its corresponding QR codes.
  2. Do not use the default QR code; it doesn’t include any embedded parameters needed for specific fundraisers.
