Archiving Objects
DonorPoint does not allow for deleting objects. This means your database may get cluttered over time. DonorPoint allows you to archive objects when you are done with them. Archiving an object sets a flag on the object that hides it by default from lists and select popups. However archived objects can be easily found and unarchived.
Archiving Objects
You can find the link to archive an object most places where it appers in DonorPoint.
- In an object list by clicking the “Archive” link under the object’s name
- In an object editor or object popup, by checking the “Archived?” checkbox
- In an object view with a property that is a list, by clicking the link to that appears as a “banker’s box” icon.
Once an object is archived, it does not appear by default in lists or select popups.
Finding Archived Objects in Lists
Archived objects are hidden by default in lists, but can be viewed by opening the filter box and clearing the “Archived” filter or setting it to “true”, then selecting the “Search” button.
Finding Archived Objects in Select Popups
Archived objects are hidden by default in select popups, but can be viewed by checking the “Include Archived?” checkbox on the select popup.
Unarchiving Objects
Archived objects can be unarchived easily:
- In an object list when archived objects are filtered in, by selecting the “Unarchive” link under the object’s name
- In an object editor or object popup, by unchecking the “Archived?” checkbox
