Document Generation

DonorPoint can generate PDF documents from transactions — receipts, acknowledgement letters, pledge statements, and other documents — using Document Templates. Documents can be generated for a single transaction, in bulk for a filtered list, or automatically attached to receipt emails.

Generating a Document for a Single Transaction

  1. Open the transaction
  2. Click Generate Document in the right-hand sidebar
  3. Select the Document Template to use
  4. The PDF is generated and downloaded, or sent as an email attachment, depending on the template configuration

Bulk Document Generation

From the Transactions list view:

  1. Filter the list to the transactions you want to generate documents for
  2. Click Generate Documents in the action bar
  3. Select the Document Template
  4. DonorPoint generates a merged PDF containing one document per transaction and downloads it as a single file

This is how year-end tax receipts, pledge reminders, and billing statements are produced in bulk.

Billing Statement Batches

For recurring donations of the Bill Me type — pledge transactions awaiting future payment — DonorPoint can generate a batch of billing statements. This produces individual PDF invoices for each open pledge, merged into a single print-ready file.

Automatic Attachment

Document Templates can also be attached to Items directly, so that a PDF is automatically generated and attached to the receipt email for every transaction containing that item. See Attachments for how to configure this on an Item.
