Attachments
Items can have a Document Template attached to them. When a transaction includes that item, DonorPoint generates a PDF from the template and attaches it to the receipt email automatically.
Common uses:
- Vouchers with a barcode or unique redemption code
- Event tickets sent after registration
- Membership cards
- Donation certificates or acknowledgement letters
How It Works
- Create or select a Document Template in Customization & Configuration → Document Templates
- Open the Item edit page and go to the Definition tab
- Set the Attachment field to the desired Document Template
- When a transaction includes this item, the PDF is generated and attached to the receipt email sent to the donor
The document is generated once per Order Item — if a donor purchases a quantity of 3, three separate PDFs are generated.
Merge Tags and Item Data
The Document Template has access to the full transaction context, including the specific Order Item and its custom field values. This allows templates to include donor-specific content such as names, ticket numbers, amounts, and redemption codes.
