Seating
DonorPoint includes a seating management system for events with assigned seating. You can define tables, assign seats to registrants, and track the seating chart from within the admin application.
Setup
Seating is configured at the Event level and managed per Event Package.
- Open the Event and go to the Seating tab
- Create Tables — define each table by name and capacity
- On each Event Package, go to the Seating tab to configure how seats are assigned for that package
Tables
Each table has:
- Name — displayed in the seating chart (e.g., “Table 1”, “Table A”, “Sponsor Table”)
- Capacity — the number of seats at the table
- Seat Assignments — the registrants assigned to seats at this table
Assigning Seats
Seat assignments link an Event Registration record to a specific table. Staff can assign seats from the Event’s Seating tab, or from the individual registration record.
If a donor purchases a Table of 10 package, all 10 registrant names can be assigned to seats at the same table in one action.
Seating on the Confirmation Page
If configured, the registrant’s table assignment can be displayed on the confirmation page and in the receipt email using merge tags.
Reporting
The seating chart is accessible as a report from the Event’s Reports tab, showing a table-by-table view of all assignments, empty seats, and unassigned registrants.
