Ticketing

DonorPoint can generate PDF tickets and send them as email attachments when a donor registers for an event. Tickets are produced using a Document Template that you design, and can include the registrant’s name, event details, package name, custom field values, and a unique identifier or barcode.

Setup

  1. Design a Document Template for your ticket in Customization & Configuration → Document Templates. The template has access to all event registration data as merge fields.
  2. Open the Event Package and go to the Ticketing tab
  3. Set the Ticket Template field to your Document Template
  4. Ensure the Event has ticketing enabled on its Ticketing tab

Once configured, a PDF ticket is generated for each registrant and attached to the receipt email automatically when a registration is completed.

Ticket Content

A ticket template can include any of the following:

  • Event name, date, time, and location
  • Package name and description
  • Registrant name (from Additional Contacts)
  • Custom field values (meal choice, seat assignment, etc.)
  • A unique ticket number or identifier for check-in scanning
  • Your organization’s branding, logo, and design

Per-Registrant vs. Per-Transaction

Tickets are generated per Order Item, not per transaction. If a donor purchases a Table of 10 (one transaction), 10 individual tickets are generated — one per registrant captured via Additional Contacts.

Offline Ticket Printing

The Ticket Template tab on the Raffle item also uses Document Templates for printing raffle tickets in bulk. See Raffles for that context.
