Portal Overview

When a donor logs in to the portal, they see a tabbed interface with up to six sections. Each tab gives donors self-service access to a different area of their relationship with your organization.

Portal Tabs

1. Basics (Profile)

The profile tab lets donors view and update their personal information:

  • Name, email, phone, address
  • Additional email and work phone
  • Custom fields configured for your account
  • Profile photo upload (JPG, GIF, or PNG, max 700 KB)
  • Password change (if not using SSO)

2. Transactions (Giving History)

A chronological list of all the donor’s transactions:

  • Displays fundraiser name, date, and amount for each gift
  • Paginated for donors with long giving histories
  • Click any transaction to view full details
  • Staff-permissioned donors can enter new transactions directly

3. Recurring Donations

Active recurring donation schedules:

  • Shows status, fundraiser, payment method, next payment date, and amount
  • Click through to manage individual recurring donations
  • Donors can update payment method, change amount, pause, or cancel

4. Activities (Event Registrations)

Event participation history:

  • Upcoming — events the donor is registered for, with dates
  • Past — events the donor has attended
  • Click through to view registration details

5. Volunteering

Volunteer hour tracking:

  • Upcoming — scheduled volunteer shifts
  • Past — completed volunteer hours
  • Donors can self-report volunteer hours (organization, date, hours, status)
  • Full create, edit, and delete capability on volunteer records

6. Reports (Conditional)

Available only if reports have been configured for portal users:

  • Displays reports assigned to the donor’s user account
  • Useful for providing donors with personalized giving summaries or tax reports

Community Fundraiser Portal

In addition to the personal donor portal, DonorPoint provides a community fundraiser portal for peer-to-peer campaigns:

Member Pages

Individual fundraising pages where participants can:

  • Track progress toward their personal fundraising goal
  • Share their page on social media (Facebook, Twitter)
  • View their donors and donation amounts
  • Customize their page message and photo

Team Dashboards

Team leader view for managing a community fundraiser:

  • View and manage team members
  • Send invitations to recruit new team members
  • Track team progress against goal
  • Publish or unpublish the team page
